Practical scope and preparation guidance

Digital currency fundamentals

Identify the issuer, legal claim, transfer mechanism and redemption arrangements. Digital forms of money and assets differ; the label alone does not determine rights or regulatory treatment.

Digital currency versus cryptocurrency

Central-bank digital currency and privately issued cryptoassets have different issuers and structures. Assess the particular instrument and jurisdiction rather than use these terms interchangeably.

Stablecoins

Review the issuer, reserve disclosures, redemption terms and relevant oversight. A stated price target does not guarantee redemption, reserve availability or stable value.

Wallets and custody

Identify who controls access and signing credentials, whether custody is independent and what recovery arrangements exist. Never send private keys or passwords to TBH or through public forms.

Blockchain confirmations

Network, provider and asset conditions affect confirmation and finality requirements. Agree the required checks with the provider; no universal confirmation count or fixed settlement time applies.

Settlement risk

Agree the asset, network, destination checks, provider responsibilities and completion evidence. A recorded transfer and satisfaction of contractual settlement conditions are separate questions.

Counterparty risk

Review identity, authority, provider status, custody and ability to perform. Technical transfer capability does not establish the counterparty’s commercial reliability.

Digital fraud

Investigate imitation platforms, impersonation and demands for extra payments to release claimed proceeds. Verify provider details independently and protect credentials; no technology removes fraud risk.
